The Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs is set to announce a new date for the Declaration of Rights for the conduct of Paramount Chieftaincy elections in Perri Chiefdom, Pujehun District and Kwame-Bai Krim Chiefdom, Bonthe District.

According to the ministry, the Declaration of Rights is to be redone after conduction investigations into complaints emanated from the previous declarations.

The decision was made following several engagements with stakeholders in the two chiefdoms, the Ministry of Local Government in consultation with the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) resolving to a fresh Declaration of Rights to be conducted in these chiefdoms.

The Ministry stated that it is committed to ensuring a free, fair, credible and transparent process wide in the condu of all Paramount Chieftaincy elections nation wide.
