The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has declared 2026 the Year of Culture and Creativity, with a theme deliberately built upon the foundations laid by the Tourism for All campaign (2024) and the Year of Ecotourism (2025).

Nabeela Farida Tunis, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, stated that it is a powerful national declaration of the people, defined by resilience, innovation, and rich cultural diversity and heritage.

The Year affirms that culture and creativity are central to national unity, peace, and inclusive economic growth, recognising the role of people, traditions, music, languages, and creative skills in shaping our future.

The ministry called on all Sierra Leoneans, friends, partners, and well-wishers to join in unlocking opportunity, restoring dignity, and creating sustainable livelihoods for present and future generations.
