In a crucial moment for Sierra Leone’s elections, a disturbing incident has emerged at Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG), where reports of missing ballot papers have halted the voting process.

Representatives from a political party claim that the voting was brought to a halt due to a significant shortfall in the expected number of ballot papers.

According to an agent from the political party, they had anticipated receiving 300 ballot papers for each polling station at FSSG. However, to their dismay, they discovered that only 200 had been provided by the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL).

The agent further revealed that the promised nine polling centers within the school were incomplete.

“We arrived this morning to find that the ECSL had only sent us 200 ballot papers,” the concerned agent stated. “This means we are lacking 100 ballot papers that were crucial for the voting process. We have raised our concerns with the party agents, and we demand an explanation regarding the whereabouts of these missing papers. Until this issue is resolved and the missing 100 ballot papers are provided, we refuse to proceed with the voting process,” he explained.
