Mohamed C. Bah, the 2023 presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has issued a thought-provoking New Year’s message, emphasizing key areas of reform for Sierra Leone’s development.
In his first message, Bah called for a reduction in excessive government overseas travels and a review of employment practices in the public sector. He highlighted concerns over the strain such practices place on national resources, urging policymakers to prioritize fiscal responsibility and streamline government operations.
“We need to reduce excessive government overseas travels and the hiring of too many people in Government,” Bah stated, stressing the importance of efficient resource management in fostering national progress.
In his second message, Bah turned his attention to social issues, advocating for unity and respect for human rights. He underscored the need to eliminate ethnic discrimination and protect the liberties of all citizens, fostering a sense of inclusivity and justice in Sierra Leone.
“We must fight against ethnic discrimination and protect the individual liberties and human rights of our citizens,” he added, emphasizing the role of equality and freedom in building a cohesive society.
As the nation prepares to welcome 2025, Bah extended his wishes for a prosperous year, expressing optimism for a future where these reforms are realized. “Happy New Year 2025 in advance!” he concluded.
