On March 12, 2025, the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, visited the Port of Freetown, where he was welcomed by the Director General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio.

Dr. Jalloh took a tour of the port, seeing the active operations and new infrastructure improvements. Mr. Bio gave the Vice President an overview of the work being done to improve the port’s efficiency, security, and ability to support trade.

One of the key stops was at the port’s transit point, where Dr. Jalloh observed how goods move through the facility.
