The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has disclosed that Sierra Leone national team head coach, Mohamed Kallon, has not been placed on a fixed salary since his appointment in February 2025.

Speaking on Truth Morning Devotion, Dr. Abdulai explained that Kallon currently receives only appearance fees and matchday allowances while discussions about his official remuneration package remain ongoing.

“Kallon is not being paid a salary at the moment,” Dr. Abdulai stated. “He chose to go ahead with the job while negotiations continue. What he currently receives are allowances and matchday fees, but nothing close to what a national team head coach deserves.”

Despite the absence of a formal salary, Abdulai praised Kallon’s commitment to the Leone Stars, describing him as selfless and passionate about developing the team.

“Not many would agree to work under such conditions,” Abdulai added. “But Kallon has shown great sacrifice.

He wants to build the team and inspire a new generation of players. He deserves respect and a decent salary package that reflects his qualifications and international experience.”
