The Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) and the National Public Health Agency (NPHA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare, have launched specialized Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials focused on Lassa fever, Ebola, and Mpox.
The materials were developed specifically for individuals with disabilities to ensure they are well-informed about these critical health threats.
The orientation session, supported by Breakthrough ACTION, was held at the Ministry of Social Welfare’s Conference Hall in Freetown.
The initiative aims to provide accessible and easy-to-understand information about the symptoms, transmission, prevention, and treatment of Lassa fever, Ebola, and Mpox for disabled individuals, ensuring that this vulnerable group is adequately prepared in case of an outbreak.
The IEC materials are tailored to meet the specific needs of disabled persons, ensuring effective communication of public health messages and empowering them with vital knowledge.
The program underscores the importance of inclusivity in health awareness and preparedness, aiming to improve health outcomes for all members of society.
