The Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) has capacitated psychiatrists and 32 mental health doctors and nurses as part of improving sustainable health in the country.

This came as part of the concept that trained caregivers are critical to upholding the fundamental human rights of people living with mental health problems in the country.

As the plan to have the mental health sector very reactive to maintaining the status, the government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of health has decided to have these doctors and nurses well-capacitated to meet with the trend and save more lives in the country.

According to them, the minister of health and sanitation, Austin Demby is making gains in the direction to have it workable at the earliest possible time.

In order to roll and materialize the plans, they have rolled out training of psychiatrists as well as boosting 12 mental health doctors and 20 nurses in the country.
