President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Ahmed Sahid Nasralla has said that a viral video showing. AYV journalist, Samuel Wise Bangura engaging in money-doubling activities was part of an investigation.
Nasralla in a Twitter post also tasked Bangura to publicly clarify his alleged involvement in the scheme.
The AYV journalist claimed he was robbed on Monday afternoon of $7,000, iPhone 14 pro max, and other valuables. But a report and video from social media blogging platform, Salone Gossip says Bangura was engaged in fraudulent activities.
The SLAJ President said he spoke with Bangura and that he denied the insinuation of the video.
“He says the video of him doing rounds on social media currently was part of an investigation into money doubling scams he has been conducting for the past 2 months with his cameraman, J-Light,” Nasralla wrote.
He further added that he has admonished the TV presenter to issue out a statement “immediately” to gain assurance of the general public.
Samuel Wise Bangura is lying; there’s no truth there, according to the video he is part of the money doubling, so you want to use investigation to fool the public because you’re a renowned journalist, no those days are go, now social media is here to expose you one after the other,Nasralla God will surely punish you and your entire generations yet unborn to deceive the nation
To me this story of the SLAJ president seems like a cover up thing for Samuel Wise Bangura

If the said video was part of his investigation why then he lied to the nation of been robbed? Is Samuel working for SLAJ president or for AYV? Stop deceiving Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 for your selfish desires.

Under investigation doesn’t mean it denied the fact, but investigation have to take place in any case either it be criminal or civil.

I’m not trying to bring anyone down. But where in Sierra Leone a TV Presenter is in possession of $7000.00 in his pocket or wherever he have placed it and moving about the City of Free Town. Are TV Presenter no more paid in Leones but in US Dollars. The Mr. Wise Man just collected his Salaries and get rub on the way Home..?..🤓
This is so bad for someone like Samuel wise involving in such act. I have high esteem for him among many Sierra Leonian journalists. I hope this is not true.
I think the
evidence is their and no way Samuel Wise is going to denied this. SLAJ as an institution need to protect their image
i think to investigate such is the work of the police not journalist infact they don’t investigate they gather information
Questions
Are we saying a big institution like AYV is paying staffs salaries on the table with United States Dollars that warrant Mr Wise Bangura to possess such huge amount in his possession to be robbed
If Mr Wise was investigating money laundering crime was that known to his Mangement and other legal authorities also does investigating a crime gives physical permission to be part of the crime that after Mr Wise Bangura reported that he was robbed we then have a contradicting video to show case he was involved in money laundering.
Finally is Mr Wise Bangura a cirtified man for money laundering investigation
If the claim is true that the money that was in his possession is Mr Wise Bangura`s salary that he just received, can he show case that by receipt whether he was paid on the table or he collected te money from a Bank.
