Representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has on the 11th May, 2024 ensured Compliance and Community Engagement at Marampa Mines.
The move is refered to as a significant step towards community welfare and development was taken as the National Development Induced Resettlement secretariat, headed by Development Secretary Mr. Peter Sam-Kpakra from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), along with representatives from various ministries, visited Marampa Mines Limited in Lunsar.
They revealed that, the primary objective of this visit was to engage with the company regarding their adherence to National Development Induced Resettlement laws and ensure proactive engagement with the project-affected persons in the mining community. Emphasis was placed on the community’s adequate resettlement before any further operations commence.
The team rolled out a constructive briefing session with the management, followed by site visits where the concerns of project-affected persons were earnestly listened to, soliciting their views on the proposed relocation and addressing their general issues.
The event was a milestone to ensuring that, the company actually works with the expectations of the people.
