The Media Reform Coordinating Group-SL (MRCG-SL) has announced the list of finalists for the 2ndNational Inclusive & Anti-Conflicts Awards 2024 

The award ceremony will be held on Tuesday 2nd July 2024, at the Fifty-fifty Group Hall, Tower Hill, Freetown Sierra Leone and will be graced by media experts, high-level personalities and participants (Journalists and Minority Rights Activists) from Engaging the Media and Minorities to Act for Peace Building(EMMAP).

The National Inclusive & Anti Conflicts Awards received Twenty-Nine(29) entries from within the Freetown and few other districts in Sierra Leone.

The Three Evaluators after a thorough review of the entries shortlisted Six(6) finalists.

The shortlisted finalists for National Inclusive & Anti Conflicts Awards and the topics they wrote on:

AlusineRheme Wilson – Excessive Heat Grips Makeni

• Sia Patricia Ngevao – Forgotten Minorities

• Alfred Koroma – Mobile Money Transfer Problem

• Ibrahim Mansaray – Plastic & Climate Change

• Haroun Sani – Climate Change

• Kemo Cham – Mining/Civil War

Three winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony.

The Award is organised in partnership with Minority Rights Group Africa (MRGA) with funding from the European Union (EU), under the “Engaging Media and Minorities to Act for Peacebuilding” (EMMAP) Programme. EMMAP aims to “raise public awareness of the interconnections between conflict, migration, and minority exclusion to help build and consolidate sustainable peace in Sierra Leone, Senegal, and Ghana.”
