The United Nation in Sierra Leone through its Resident Coordinator, Babatunde Ahonsi has on the 1st June, 2023 launched the Youth Advisory Group (YAG) in Freetown.
The event was witnessed by different heads of UN agencies and the Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura.
Babatunde Ahonsi revealed that, 12 members were inducted and confirmed that they are highly enthusiastic to be part of the group.
He added that they are committed to making good use of the platform to assist the UN country team to implement programs that will advance the SDGs and the wellbeing of young Sierra Leoneans.
“During today’s launch of the UN youth advisory group (YAG), along with UN heads of agencies and minister of youth affairs, I welcomed and thanked the UNYAG members. They had the opportunity to express their priorities on how they’ll make inputs to UN youth programs in Sierra Leone,” he stated.
