The National Association of SLPP Bloggers has issued a statement to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) members and stakeholders, clarifying its role as the only recognized and sanctioned blogging entity for the party.
This announcement follows the recent establishment of a new group, the Sierra Leone Association of Bloggers, reportedly founded by Joseph Sannoh of Heal Salone, claiming to represent all SLPP bloggers.
The National Association of SLPP Bloggers emphasized it is the sole organization acknowledged by the SLPP’s National Secretary General, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, and top communication officials in President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s administration.
In its statement, the National Association of SLPP Bloggers underscored its longstanding commitment to promoting the policies and agendas of President Bio’s administration across social media platforms.
The association highlighted that over the past five years, it has been actively engaged in disseminating information, supporting the SLPP’s political objectives, and advancing the President’s “Big Five” Agenda for national development.
While acknowledging the right to free association and the existence of other blogging groups, the National Association of SLPP Bloggers maintained that it remains the only official and approved blogging association within the SLPP structure. It emphasized that the newly formed Sierra Leone Association of Bloggers lacks formal recognition within the party’s organizational framework.
The statement further clarified that the National Association of SLPP Bloggers is not currently endorsing any prospective flagbearer candidates for the 2028 elections. The association committed to endorsing only the candidate selected at the SLPP’s Flagbearer National Delegates Conference.
The association’s announcement calls for stakeholders and political appointees to direct support exclusively to the National Association of SLPP Bloggers, ensuring clarity in party messaging as it continues its mission to amplify the SLPP’s values and initiatives.
