The National Youth Awareness Forum Sierra Leone has on the 24th August 2022 commenced four days training with 187 teachers in Pujehun District on the Project Titled: Sierra Leone Education Innovation Challenge (SLEIC).
The training attracted representatives from the Teaching Service Commission, Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, and the press among others at the Pujehun District Council hall along old Jah Street in Pujehun Town.
In an interview with our reporter, the Project Coordinator of National Youth Awareness Forum Sierra Leone, Augustine Elogima Sandy said the organization works with children, communities and key stakeholders to promote and strengthen rights of children to quality education and wellbeing, adding the Forum strives for a society where children enjoy their rights for national development.
He continued that their intervention in the lives of children is to motivate specific values and a deep sense of appreciation including honesty, transparency and accountability at all levels for effective outcomes.
Augustine Elogima Sandy said the 187 targeted teachers are from 26 community primary schools across the district that will be trained alongside their head teachers on the important aspects of early childhood education, Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare for a better learning environment
On Behalf of the participants, the Acting chairman of Head Teachers Council Pujehun district, John Elogima Batilo Lassayo lauded the National Youth Awareness Forum Sierra Leone for the timely gesture.
