Native Consortium And Research Center have issued a press release about scarcity and a hike in fuel prices in the country.
The press release states that fuel dealers are the ones causing the scarcity of the product.
The press release reads
“It has come to the attention of the Consortium that even when the pump price of fuel has been increased to LE 21 per liter, there is a huge artificial scarcity created in the main provincial towns where the Dealers only sell for an hour and close their stations. And then, they resort to selling through the black market in jerry cans for LE 25 to Le 30 per liter.
The Consortium condemns this conspiracy and calls on the President to set up an independent committee to investigate because the Petroleum Regulatory Authority (PRA) doesn’t seem to be in control”.
