In a determined effort to combat the rising menace of illegal drugs in Sierra Leone, the newly appointed Executive Director of the National Drug’s Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Chief Andrew Jaiah Kaikai ESQ, has embarked on series of outreach programs targeting the youth in slums and ghettos across the Centre District of Freetown.
His mission is to educate and empower young men and women to fight against drug abuse, with a specific focus on Kush and other illegal substances.
Chief Kaikai, known for his relentless dedication to eradicating drug-related issues, recently concluded his tour, which included visits to several marginalized communities such as Bay and Bormeh. During his engagements, he actively involved the youth, emphasizing the importance of staying away from drugs and leading a healthy lifestyle. Through interactive sessions and awareness campaigns, Chief Kaikai inspired the youth to resist the temptations of drug abuse, focusing on education, skill development, and positive community engagement as viable alternatives.
The Executive Director’s efforts didn’t stop there; he extended his outreach to vulnerable groups in Freetown, particularly the physically challenged individuals whom he affectionately refers to as his friends.
