The Sierra Leone Ministry of Health has on Thursday, 17th April, 2025 confirmed Thirty-two (32) New MonkeyPox Cases, resulting to an increase of Three Hundred and Seventy Three (373) confirmed cases, with no new recovery, and a record of three deaths since it broke out.
The official report further confirmed a total number of 91 recovery since the infectious disease broke out. Currently, there are Two Hundred and Seventy Nine (279) active cases recorded by the health ministry.
The Ministry, in shedding light on the cases as confirmed in various districts across the country, formalized that the Western Rural currently hosts an increase of Forty Nine (49) cases, and an increase of Three Hundred (300) cases in the Western Urban.
The official report further confirmed that Bo City maintained a total number of Four (4) confirmed cases, and a total of Six (6) cases in Bombali. Two (2) cases in Kanema, Two (2) in Moyamba, with an increase of Four (4) in Port Loko, three (3) in Tonkolili, One (1) in Kambia, and One (1) in Karene.
However, as confirmed in the recent report of the Ministry, there has been no M-pox cases in Bonthe, Falaba, Kailahun, Kono, Koinadugu, and Pujehun.
With the an overall total of Three Hundred and Seventy Three (373) cases confirmed, according to the Ministry, Two Hundred and Thirty Nine (239) are male, and One Hundred and Thirty Four (134) Female.
The report, which was made on the afternoon hours of Thursday, 17 April, admonished the public to call on the free toll number 177 for emergency reports on any MPOX case or cases.
