Founding member of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) issues a warning to fellow members, advising against withdrawing from the alliance with the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP)

The warning was made through a written letter from BREWAH & CO ABARRISTERS & SOLICITORS Legal Consultants on behalf of Mohamed Koroma.

The letter stated that they had been informed by their Client that the NGC party had summoned an unconstitutional NEC meeting scheduled for March 8th, 2024.

It was stated that the proposed meeting has been summoned by the Acting Chairman and leader of the party Jesmed M. Suma, and other national executive members with the sole purpose of withdrawing from the alliance agreement entered into between the SLPP and the NGC and endorsed by the highest decision-making body of the party, the National Delegate Conference (NDC).

It is against this backdrop that our Client has instructed us to inform you that the NEC does not have the mandate to withdraw from or enter into an alliance with any institution or body save the NDC”.

According to the letter, the NDC gave the party the power and authority to enter into an alliance agreement with the SLPP on December 13th, 2022.

The letter continued that it is against the above backdrop their client have instructed that they desist forthwith from any unconstitutional gathering aimed at withdrawing from the Alliance Agreement entered into by the party with the ruling SLPP without due recourse to the National Delegate Conference.

It also stated that if they fail, refuse, and or neglect to desist forthwith from their plans of withdrawing from the Alliance Agreement with the SLPP without following due process, their Client will institute civil proceedings in the High Court against the party and the key leaders without further recourse to them.
