The recognition comes from Green Spot Media Television Network, which awarded Dabo a certificate of merit for his strategic vision and commitment to repositioning the country’s mining industry as a key driver of national development.

Since assuming office, Dabo has implemented a “discipline-first” approach at the NMA, streamlining processes, enforcing compliance, and enhancing operational efficiency. These measures have strengthened the sector’s contribution to Sierra Leone’s economy while ensuring that mineral resources are managed responsibly.

Dabo has also emphasized collaboration with industry stakeholders, helping mining companies navigate regulations while safeguarding the state’s interests. His approach has earned Sierra Leone a reputation for regulatory rigor and transparency in the extractive sector.

On the international stage, Dabo has represented Sierra Leone at major forums, including the Mining Indaba, the 10th African Diamond Producers’ Association (ADPA), and Sierra Leone Mining Week, promoting the country as a destination for sustainable and ethical investment.

Beyond policy and regulation, he has championed human capital development through student outreach programs, inspiring young Sierra Leoneans to consider careers in science and mining. “The future of our minerals depends on the minds we cultivate today,” Dabo said, highlighting his commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals.

The award from Green Spot Media underscores the tangible progress achieved under Dabo’s leadership and his ongoing efforts to professionalize Sierra Leone’s mining industry for sustainable national development.
