Director of Operations, Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Mohamed Braima Jah, last Thursday said that the force will not allow anybody to stand by a polling station after that individual may have voted.

AIG Jah gave this warning while he was speaking to journalists at the usual police press briefing at the SLP Headquarters on George Street in Freetown.

We will make use of every asset that we have, such as the intelligence wing, that will be providing the SLP with information,” he said.

Jah was not precise as to the distance, but he mentioned that there is a distance one must maintain after voting.

He called on the general public to be tolerant and to obey the rule of law.

If you say you are not going to obey the rule of law, and you fall short, it is possible that you may not have the opportunity to vote,” Jah warned.

He further added that the eyes of the security sector are wide open, adding that it sees everything.

“Whosoever that wants to create a problem will be minus one, I assure you,”, He concluded.
