The National Revenue Authority (NRA) issued a press release on April 8, 2025, announcing the issuance of tax clearance certificates to compliant taxpayers in the country.

The NRA wishes to inform taxpayers that those who are fully compliant with their tax obligations will receive these certificates.

To clarify the criteria for compliance, the NRA outlined several key points. Firstly, taxpayers who timely file or lodge returns for Corporation Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Withholding Tax (WHT), Rental Income Tax, and Pay Roll Tax through the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) Portal will be eligible for the clearance certificate. Secondly, taxpayers who have paid all outstanding taxes in full will also qualify.

It is essential for all taxpayers to ensure they meet these requirements to avoid delays in obtaining their Tax Clearance Certificates.

The NRA encourages taxpayers to reach out to the Domestic Tax Department at 11/13 Ecowas Street, Freetown, for any inquiries or assistance regarding their tax status.
