The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has announced stringent enforcement measures against organizers of chargeable entertainment events who fail to comply with tax obligations under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act of 2009, as amended.
The NRA has made it mandatory for event organizers hosting parties, outings, musical festivals, album launches, and other taxable events to secure a valid tax clearance certificate before proceeding. Obtaining this certificate requires the payment of GST from the anticipated revenue of such events.
In a statement released by the Authority, the NRA warned that immediate enforcement actions will include the closure of event venues and confiscation of equipment and assets if organizers are unable to provide proof of GST payment and a valid tax clearance certificate.
The enforcement initiative aims to ensure compliance and protect public revenue, as the NRA emphasizes that holding taxable events without fulfilling these obligations constitutes a legal offence.

Wow 😮 so even if am planning to make my birthday party I need to have a valid clearance from NRA 😂😂😅
So why is the police clearance now for gathering events like married, outing etc…?
Are you collecting money from people for your birthday? If yes then you need to pay GST, buy if you are not collecting money you have nothing to worry about GST.
