In a bid to implement one of the 21 Revenue Improvement measures – “Interface Integrated Trade Services (ITS) System with Asycuda World System”, the leadership of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) met with (ITS) on 22 May 2025.

The leadership of the ITS, a service provider contracted by the government to partner with the NRA to implement one of the 21 Revenue Improvement measures.

Furthermore, the NRA’s effort to enhance collaboration on improving the efficiency and integrity of customs clearance procedures was a key highlight of the meeting.

“It is important that NRA and the private sector focus on aligning our operational processes to ensure timely clearance, reduction of administrative bottlenecks, and reinforce institutional cooperation,” the Commissioner-General, Jeneba J. Bangura, encouraged.

Key areas of the discussion were focused on the issuance and management of Classification Valuation Certificates (CVCs), forgeries, undervaluation, and strategies to promote greater transparency, consistency, and accountability.

“We will commit to fostering our coordination to improve trade facilitation mechanisms in support of the national revenue objectives,” Albert Gulama, the Executive Director of ITS, stated.

NRA said it will continue its efforts in strengthening revenue collection through engagement with key stakeholders.
