Leading mobile money service provider in Sierra Leone, Orange Money, is leading the way in financial inclusion in the country.

Orange Money, is the single biggest financial service provider with over one million three hundred thousand customers in Sierra Leone.

Since its inception the service has got better with easy steps to follow, allowing customers to do transactions even without an internet connection. This has helped rural communities the most where banking services are sometimes difficult to provide.

The mainstream banking sector is still struggling to reach potential customers but Orange Money has used its platform to be the first mobile money provider to get people accounts where they can save their money.

To expand the service of Orange Money and help ease transactions for customers with accounts in mainstream banks, even service the mainstream banking population it has struck deal with some of the leading banks in the country, through which customers can easily access their accounts and withdraw or deposit cash as they want.

Customers with banks like Ecobank, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, United Bank of Africa (UBA), Rokel Commercial Bank, Access Bank and Zenith Bank have access to link their accounts with their wallet and transfer cash back and forth.

The aim for the future is decreasing the high reliability on cash transaction in Sierra Leone as the country joins the global transition to digitalize financial transactions.
