Orange Sierra Leone kicked off its annual Customer Service Week on Monday, October 7th, with a vibrant event that highlighted the company’s commitment to exceptional customer care.
Hosted by media personality Khadijah Bangura, the event brought together industry leaders, government officials, and Orange employees to celebrate the company’s achievements in customer service. The theme, “Speaking to Service and Excellence in Sierra Leone,” emphasized Orange’s dedication to providing top-notch service to its customers.
Orange Sierra Leone’s CEO, Shekou Amadu Bah, officially launched the week-long celebration. In his speech, Bah expressed gratitude to both customers and staff, acknowledging their vital roles in the company’s success.
“Customer service is more than just a department—it is a culture we strive to cultivate,” Bah said. He highlighted Orange’s ongoing efforts to expand its network and improve customer experience, including the recent achievement of 100% 4G coverage nationwide.
Bah further underscored the company’s role in supporting small businesses through its Orange Money platform, which allows users to access loans in less than 30 seconds. He pointed out that the company also contributes to the country’s development by creating jobs, building schools, and renovating hospitals.
“I am not afraid of competition; I compete with myself. Internal staff happiness leads to customer satisfaction, and that is our priority,” Bah added.
The event also featured remarks from government officials, including Chernor Bah, the Minister of Information and Civic Education. Bah commended Orange for its contributions to the country’s development and praised the Orange Money app for its impact on the lives of many Sierra Leoneans.
Timothy Kabba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also shared his experience, recalling how he stayed connected with his family in Sierra Leone during his time in China using his Orange line. He applauded Orange for its reliability.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to customers who have been with the company for 20 years, as well as long-standing partners.
Orange Sierra Leone’s Customer Service Week continues as the company reaffirms its dedication to providing excellent service and staying at the forefront of innovation in the telecommunications industry.
