As SLPP (Sierra Leone people’s Party) prepares for a new district in the Easter region, Sierra Leone Parliament too is preparing to halt the move saying it is illegal.

Panguma district, one of the five district in the colonial period would be the new district to emerge in Sierra Leone before President Julius Maada Bio leaves governance.

By the “Divide and Rule’ Policy of the colonial Masters, Five Districts in Ronietta, Bandajuma, Panguma, Karena and Bombali existed. The political division pleased the colonial government at the time time who saw the system as cheap to run.
