The body of Jeremiah John Mambu, the 9-year-old son of Pastor Francis AM Mambu, was exhumed on Saturday, November 30, 2024, for a post-mortem investigation.

The boy, who died three months ago, was found to have died from “wet” drowning leading to asphyxiation, according to the autopsy conducted by pathologist Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma and a team of medical experts in the presence of police officials.

The post-mortem also revealed injuries to Jeremiah’s skull around the temple area, consistent with a fall into the water. The findings dispel allegations of ritual murder against Pastor Mambu, the General Overseer of the Faith Healing Bible Church, who had faced public scrutiny following his son’s death.

Police investigations suggest that Jeremiah was pushed from the 60-meter-high Orugu Bridge into the Orugu River on Tuesday, August 23, 2024. Eyewitnesses claim that another boy on the bridge forcefully pushed Jeremiah from behind. The suspect has reportedly disappeared, and police are pursuing leads.

Pastor Mambu, known for his strong denunciation of idol worship, occultism, and corruption, has received numerous death threats over the years. Concerns for his family’s safety have intensified, with his 17-year-old daughter, Grace, being sent to the United States under the care of Pastor Peter Sandi, a branch leader of the Faith Healing Bible Church in Virginia.

Jeremiah’s death has further raised questions about the pastor’s safety, with reports suggesting the boy was lured to the bridge by unidentified individuals before the incident. Arrests have been made, and investigations are on-going.
