The Sierra Leone Police has approved the request of the main opposition party, the All Peoples Congress (APC) to provide security for their upcoming National Delegate Conference scheduled to take place in Makeni on the 17, 18 and 19 February 2023.

The SLP made this revelation in a letter dated 15th February 2023, and signed by the ACP Ismail Keita.

ACP Keita stated they acknowledged APC’s request for security coverage during the National Delegate Conference and it has reached the attention of the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu.

“I am further directed to convey approval of your request for security coverage for the APC National Delegate Conference scheduled at the party’s Regional Office in Makeni from 17th – 19 February, 2023,” he stated

He added that the APC should liaise with the Director of Operations Mr. Mohamed Brima-Jah at the police Headquarters, George Street in Freetown to further discuss planning details.
