After recent threats of unrest by Adebayor and others, stemming from a contested election settled in early 2023, the Sierra Leone Police have reasserted their assurance of calmness and total security control in the country, with a special focus on the nation’s capital, Freetown
The Sierra Leone Police have assured all citizens that they will remain safe from June 19 to June 24, 2024, and have called on citizens to remain calm and have total confidence in the police as they continue to maintain and protect the peace of the country.
The police, in collaboration with the Operational Support Division (OSD) and the military, are committed to maintaining peace during this period. Authorities have warned that anyone involved in illegal protests or uprisings will face strict legal consequences.
