The CEO of Malador Group of Companies, Mawan Malodor, has been detained by police officers at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with allegations of cyberbullying against General Bockarie.
This comes amidst Malador’s claims that he was defrauded of $50,000 by General Bockarie.
In an audio recording shared on social media by prominent blogger King Sannoh, Malador expressed his frustration over the police’s handling of his case. He stated that he had reported being scammed by General Bockarie several months ago, but the authorities appeared to focus solely on the cyberbullying allegations against him.
Malador explained that while he was on a tour in Europe, he received multiple calls from the police urging him to respond to the charges of cyberbullying. He was informed that he allegedly recorded General Bockarie in his office without consent, which led to the current legal situation.
Malador emphasized that he cut his tour short to comply with the police summons, confident in his innocence and asserting that it was General Bockarie who had scammed him, not the other way around. During his conversation with King Sannoh, he recalled informing the blogger about the $50,000 scam, lamenting that no media outlets had come forward to support his claims.
He further stated that he returned from his trip out of respect for the law and a commitment to being a law-abiding citizen. Malador has been detained since Monday at the CID, where he went to address the cyberbullying charges. He indicated that the case is expected to be forwarded to court on Tuesday morning.
In response to Malador’s detention, residents of Pipeline, Allen Town organized a peaceful demonstration, calling on the government and police to release him. Protesters raised placards demanding “Justice for Malador.”
