A prominent journalist, Alusine Joseph Mansaray, was tragically killed on Wilkinson Road in Freetown during a robbery attempt.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the media community and sparked calls for a thorough investigation into the crime.

Mansaray, also a law student at Fourah Bay College, was reportedly pulled from a kekeh by assailants targeting his phone. He sustained fatal injuries from the fall and succumbed to them at Life Care Hospital.

Christian Conteh, a colleague of the deceased, has penned an open letter to the Inspector General of Police, demanding a swift and comprehensive investigation into the murder. Conteh described the incident as a “robbery with aggravation” and potentially homicide, emphasizing the need to hold the perpetrators accountable.

The letter highlights the growing crime rate in the Wilkinson Road area and urges the police to utilize available resources, including eyewitness accounts and security camera footage, to apprehend the culprits.
