Military personnel parading the area confirmed on Ayv that they saw a dead body in police uniform laying on the street, but did not confirm the real cause of death

The protest is part of the ongoing planned demonstration against the government of Sierra Leone that was slated for August 8 to Wednesday 10 August. There are reports of gunshots and teargas being fired in various parts of the country, with armed military and police personnel across various parts of the country.
