The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) mandated to regulate the affairs of political parties in the country has condemned the speech make by Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) politician, Kadiru Kakkai threatening to wage war in the country if he did succeed President Bio after the 2028 election.

According to the PPRC press release, such a statement by Kaikai is unacceptable and has no place in the country’s democracy.

The press release continued that such a statement is a violation of section 39 (1) d of the Political Parties Act No. 25 of 2022 which prohibits political parties including their members, supporters, candidates, and operatives from making inciting statements or hate speech against a political party of its opponent.

It commended the Leadership of the SLPP for its swift response in condemning Kaikai statement.

It’s called on the Office of National Security and the Sierra Leone Police to investigate Kaikai and take necessary steps as provided by law.

The press release in conclusion admonished all registered political parties in Sierra Leone to continue with their normal business within the confines of the laws of Sierra Leone.
