The Petroleum Regulatory Agency has suspended the licenses of gas stations which refused to sell fuel during the December Holidays.
The Agency explained that it has been monitoring the reports of artificial shortage of petroleum products despite the country being sufficiently stocked.
According to the Agency, petroleum products dealers held back selling their products fearing that the price of fuel will shoot up.
The Petroleum Regulatory Agency noted that it has suspended the licenses of the following gas stations:
1. Mohamed Kamalobee Koroma Enterprises, 1 Lower Allen Town
2. NP Campbell Street, Freetown
3. Total Fenesu Gas Station Fenton Road, Bo
4. Kalinga Enterprise Gas Station, Reservation Junction, Bo
5. Ibrahim Saccoh, Kenema Highway, Bo
The Agency assured the public that the pump price for petroleum products is Le10,000 for the month of January throughout the country.
