Preliminary Bye-Election Results For Kailahun Constituency 005

Sierraloaded has received the most current preliminary bye-election results from various polling units in Constituency 005 in Kailahun District.

Following the death of the substantive Member of Parliament in Constituency 005 in Kailahun District, the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) declared the seat vacant and announced a date for a bye-election to fill that vacancy slated for Saturday 26th March, 2022.

In Constituency 005 in Kailahun, two female candidates contested in the election: Hawa Rosaline Siafa of SLPP; and Amie Momoh of APC.

ECSL stated that polling stations in all 69 stations in Constituency 005 Kailahun district, voting started at 7a.m. and closed at 5:00p.m.

According to The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), sorting and counting of ballots are in progress as political parties’ agents, observers and ECSL officials look on, adding that tallying and announcement of provisional results is at district level.

These numbers have not been publicly confirmed by The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), but offer the first picture of voting trends.
