Corporal Stevens (RSLAF 18181456), the military officer allegedly responsible for the shooting death of his superior, Warrant Officer Class One Moses Brima Kabba, has been arrested by security forces and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Both officers were members of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) Presidential Guard Unit.
The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday within the Presidential Guard Precinct at Freetown International Airport (Lungi). According to witnesses, the dispute reportedly arose over the distribution of tokens previously given by the Vice President

Corporal Stevens allegedly accused Officer Kabba of withholding funds intended for members of the Presidential Guard. These tokens are customarily distributed to the guards whenever the President or Vice President travels, a practice that has occasionally sparked tensions among personnel.
Corporal Stevens was attached to the airport to protect the President’s Lounge at the time of the incident.

Following the shooting, Warrant Officer Kabba’s remains were transported to Lungi Government Hospital, while the suspect was apprehended by authorities.
