The Prince of Wales Secondary School Old Boys, Class of 1993/2000, have donated two hundred and fifty thousand Leones (NLe250,000) to the Prince of Wales Centenary Committee in support of the school’s centenary celebrations in April 2025.
The Prince of Wales Secondary School, which produced many big personalities, will commemorate its centenary with a series of events in April 2025, recognizing its long history in education and community development.
The donation was formally handed on March 24, 2025, at the Prince of Wales School premises in Kingtom, Freetown. Samuel E.F. John (SEF John), Vice President 1 of the Old Princewaleans’ Association (OPWA), represented the class by presenting a donation to the Centenary Celebrations Committee.
Samuel E.F. John explained the essence of the donation, stating, “As one of the best Classes of the School, we believe giving back to our alma mater, which played a significant role in shaping who we are today, is of very high importance. The donation of NLe250,000 is meant to support ongoing construction works at the School and to be part of the Centenary Celebrations.”
The President of OPWA, Suliaman Rahman Kamara, received the donation and expressed appreciation in honor of the Centenary Celebrations Committee. He congratulated the alumni for their dedication to their school and explained the importance of the centennial milestone, which commemorates 100 years of the Prince of Wales School’s legacy and services to Sierra Leone and the world.
The Class of 1993/2000 is widely considered as one of the best in the school’s history, and their donation shows their long-term dedication to the school’s future.
