The Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU) has launched a strategic engagement with the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC) to develop a new Corporate Strategy aimed at enhancing the delivery of affordable housing solutions in Sierra Leone.
The initiative commenced on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as part of PSRU’s mandate to drive reforms and strengthen institutional capacity within the public service.
The collaboration seeks to reposition SALHOC to effectively fulfill its mandate while aligning its operations with the broader objectives of the Government’s Public Sector Reform Agenda.

During the engagement, PSRU provided technical guidance on modern approaches to corporate strategy development, emphasizing the importance of an inclusive and results-oriented process.
In his address, the Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Mr. Amara Kallon, expressed the government’s commitment to modernizing state institutions. He stated, “This initiative reflects the Government’s continued commitment to ensuring that institutions are better equipped to meet the needs of citizens.”
Mr. Sulaiman Phoray-Musa, Director of PSRU, highlighted the significance of the new corporate strategy in ensuring that SALHOC’s strategic direction aligns with current socio-economic realities and evolving housing demands.

He further reiterated PSRU’s dedication to supporting public institutions in creating robust frameworks that promote accountability, efficiency, and impact.
Welcoming the partnership, Mr. Munda Sandi, General Manager of SALHOC, noted that the new strategy would establish clear priorities and measurable targets to drive transformation and sustainability in the housing sector.
