Hannah Quee, a student from Kenema Islamic Secondary School, is set to travel to the United States, fulfilling a promise made by Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh.

This comes after her victory in the Radical Inclusion School debate, an initiative launched at the beginning of 2024 by the Chief Minister. The debate, which took place across the 16 districts of Sierra Leone, was first introduced in Kenema, where students from various schools participated in the event.

The Chief Minister had pledged that the winner from Kenema, where the debate was initially launched, would have the opportunity to visit the United States before the end of the year. Hannah Quee, an orphan and beneficiary of the Free Quality School Education (FQSE) program, emerged victorious in the debate. Born and raised in Kenema, this will be her first time leaving the city, as she recently traveled to Freetown in preparation for her journey to the USA.

All necessary arrangements for Hannah’s travel have been completed, including the acquisition of a national passport and the issuance of a US visa. She is part of the Chief Minister’s delegation and is expected to witness President Julius Maada Bio presiding over the United Nations Security Council in New York.
