The Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO), Ing. Tiideni Hawa Jabbi, has conducted an inspection tour of the Blama, Bandawor, and six other villages Water Supply Project at the Wanjei River as efforts intensify to fast-track the completion of the long-standing water infrastructure initiative, with support from the Government of Sierra Leone.

The water supply project, which commenced in 2015, is a critical intervention aimed at improving access to safe and reliable water for Blama and surrounding communities. The visit forms part of SALWACO management’s ongoing review of projects to ensure timely and effective delivery.

During the tour, Ing. Jabbi was accompanied by the Director of Operations, Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie, and the Director of Project Management, Ing. Yankuba Jusu Tarawally. Ing. Lebbie, who oversees the project, provided a detailed technical briefing on its scope, progress, and challenges as the team inspected the facilities.

Speaking at the site, the Managing Director said the visit was to gain first-hand insight into the project’s current status and to identify practical steps needed to ensure its completion. She described access to safe water as a basic necessity and assured that management would work closely with technical teams to address outstanding challenges.

She further highlighted SALWACO’s plans to strengthen project supervision, improve operational efficiency, and enhance accountability in the delivery of water infrastructure across the country.

SALWACO reaffirmed its commitment to revitalizing stalled projects and expanding sustainable water supply services in line with its mandate, with continued support from the Government of Sierra Leone.
