The former leader of Sierra Leone’s opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, in observance of the sacred celebration, Easter, admonished Sierra Leoneans to embrace peace, forgiveness and compassion.
In his message, Kamara emphasized the significance of Easter as a time of renewal, hope, and triumph over adversity. He stated, “Easter is a powerful season. It reminds us of the ultimate victory of light over darkness, love over hatred, and peace over strife.”
He called on all Sierra Leoneans, regardless of their region, religion, or political affiliation, to embrace the core values of unity, forgiveness, and compassion, stating, “embrace the message of unity, forgiveness, and compassion.”
Kamara highlighted the importance of reflection during that sacred time, urging citizens to recommit to the values of justice, accountability, and peace. “Let us continue to nurture our beloved nation with the spirit of community and faith that defines us as a people,” he urged.
In acknowledgment of international support, Kamara expressed gratitude to Sierra Leone’s partners and friends. “I thank you for your steadfast support and friendship. Your commitment to our nation’s progress has not gone unnoticed,” he said, expressing hope for deeper collaboration aimed at fostering an inclusive, democratic, and prosperous Sierra Leone.
He concluded his message by wishing every Sierra Leonean a joyful, peaceful, and blessed Easter. “May we all change our lives and hearts to be messengers of Easter joy and hope,” he said, invoking blessings for Sierra Leone and its people.
