A photograph of the newly appointed Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, and his predecessor, Mohamed Orman Bangura, has gained significant traction on Facebook.
The image, showing both men smiling, has circulated widely weeks after Bangura publicly addressed his dismissal from the same ministerial position by President Julius Maada Bio.
Mohamed Orman Bangura, in his first public statement following his removal, reiterated his steadfast loyalty to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). He emphasized that his commitment to service remains unchanged, stating, “I remain an SLPP member through and through. Leadership is not about titles; it’s about service, and I will continue to serve with the same dedication and passion, focusing on the progress of Sierra Leone.”
Despite his recent departure from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Bangura has underscored his ongoing dedication to the country’s youth.
The viral photograph with the new minister, Ibrahim Sannoh, is seen as a demonstration of his continued support and a potential indication of a collaborative approach moving forward.
Ibrahim Sannoh was appointed Minister of Youth Affairs on April 8, 2025, by President Julius Maada Bio. Prior to this appointment, Sannoh served as the Deputy Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation in 2023 and held the position of Executive Director at the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA).
Congratulation brother man, wishing you all the best in your new appointment. Please as a youth of this country, I am pleading to you to set eyes and focus on the fight against dangerous drugs to save the youths of this country, please let this fight be on the front as a youth minister. Please, please honourable minister. May God guide and protect you to do your duty with peace for the success of Sierra Leone youths. The mothers, father’s, Uncle’s, Aunt’s, sisters, brothers and all family members of the Sierra Leone youths are crying with full of tears in their faces. Sierra Leone as a whole is crying, because no hope for our country future leaders. Please, please Mr minister. The only solution to win this fight is to look into the lineage of the drugs ( the movements ) and try to discourage the exporters of the drugs with strong punishment .
