The Ambassador-designate of Saudi Arabia to Sierra Leone, Saud Musa’ad Abo Musaed, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Barrie, at the Sierra Leone Chancery in Riyadh as part of engagements ahead of his diplomatic posting to Freetown.

According to information from the Sierra Leone diplomatic mission in Riyadh, the meeting took place on Thursday and brought together the incoming Saudi envoy and senior members of the Sierra Leone delegation in the Kingdom.

During the visit, Ambassador-designate Musaed met with Ambassador Barrie, Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador Abdul Aziz Turay, and Samuel Bob Farmar, a Brigadier General who serves as Sierra Leone’s Head of Delegation to the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), along with other senior staff of the mission.

The discussions focused on issues of mutual interest aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Sierra Leone. The two diplomats explored opportunities for deeper cooperation and engagement between the two countries.

During the meeting, Musaed pledged his support to deepen ties between the two nations and expressed interest in learning best practices that could further enhance cooperation.

Ambassador Barrie welcomed the gesture and congratulated the Saudi diplomat on his appointment as Ambassador-designate to Sierra Leone.

According to the Sierra Leone mission in Riyadh, the new Saudi envoy is expected to assume his diplomatic duties in Sierra Leone after the holy month of Ramadan.
