The Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Conrad Sackey, has announced the best-performing schools in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In the institutional category, Kamboi Senior Secondary School in Kenema was named the Best Performing School, with all ten of its candidates achieving credits or better in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics meeting the requirements for direct entry into university.

Kabala Christian Secondary School also recorded remarkable results, with all its candidates meeting the minimum university entry requirement.

“We are proud to announce that our school ranked second best in the entire country in this year’s WASSCE. Every single one of our candidates, 100%, met the university entrance requirements. Thanks to our amazing and dedicated teachers and staff for this great achievement.” the school wrote

According to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 143,985 candidates sat for the examination nationwide. However, 13,213 results have been withheld due to suspected irregularities, while over 3,500 candidates could not have their results released because of unpaid school fees.

The Ministry has urged schools and candidates to collect their results from designated centers and to use them to guide further academic and career development.
