In a successful early morning operation on Thursday, joint security forces intercepted a significant illegal consignment of Kush at the Fallah Checkpoint. The bust took place around 7:00 a.m. and resulted in the arrest of Mohamed Sahr Tarawalley, a resident of 10 Regent Road, Lumley, Freetown. He was found in possession of 28 parcels of the illicit substance.

The operation was led by Police Constable Mohamed Patrick Ngobeh (Force No. 18286) and Corporal Kanu of the Special Investigation Branch (SIB). Their effective coordination and vigilance were key to the success of the mission, underscoring the security forces’ growing capacity to combat illegal narcotics in the region.

Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, Regional Police Commander for the Southern region, commended the officers for their professionalism and dedication. He expressed pride in their efforts, describing the interception as a major victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Sierra Leone.

“AIG Kanneh’s leadership has been instrumental in strengthening security operations in the region, with consistent results like this reinforcing his confidence in the force,” a police spokesperson noted.

Kanneh urged officers to remain committed to their duties and teamwork, stressing the importance of their continued vigilance in maintaining law and order in the region.

The suspect, Tarawalley, remains in custody as investigations continue.
