With the aim to interact with authorities and other stakeholders for the establishment of administrative and logistics needs for the deployment of ECOWAS mission, a nine man delegation headed by Brig Gen Mactar Diop, has received an update on internal security status from the Inspector General of Police (IGP ) Mr. William Fayia Sellu.

It could be recalled that the 64th Ordinary Session of the Authority of the heads of State and Government held on the 10th December 2023 in Abuja directed the ECOWAS Commission to facilitate the deployment of ECOWAS mission to Sierra Leone.
In the framework of the preparation for the deployment of the mission, the ECOWAS Commission was tasked to conduct a preliminary reconnaissance from 4 to 10 February 2024.
