The Inspector General of Police (IGP), William Fayia Sellu has admonished new police recruits to follow the Standing Orders of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and for them to be safe on the job.
Mr. Sellu made this statement whilst observing Passing-out Parade rehearsals at Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA), Hastings Campus.
He furthered that with the level of performance exhibited by the recruits on parade, he was optimistic that the pending passing-out ceremony due in a few weeks, would be the best in the history of the SLP.
Mr. Sellu noted that even though the exercises are rigorous with some crucibles, he called on the determined recruits to be dedicated to duty when they would have passed out from SILEA.
In closing, the IGP gratefully thanked the Director of Training – AIG Sylvester Koroma, SILEA 1&2 Commandants, the Training Staff, and Platoon Commanders for their exemplary work, so far.
