Dr. Turad Senesie, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Lands and Country Planning, expressed his assessment of the election process in Bonthe District as being 80% satisfactory. He shared his thoughts after casting his vote at the RC Primary School polling center 12084 in Gbongeh, Kpanda Kemoh Chiefdom, Bonthe District.

In an interview with Sierraloaded election observer, Jonathan BJ Omaru, Dr. Senesie commended the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), stating that their response has been commendable, contributing to the overall positive rating of the process.

Dr. Senesie observed that the people of Bonthe District exhibited enthusiasm and determination to participate in the voting process, emphasizing their commitment to fostering sustainable development in the region. The significant voter turnout in Bonthe District pleased him, reflecting a mature democracy where citizens are eager to exercise their constitutional rights.

He further noted that Bonthe District remained peaceful throughout the voting process, attributing this to the calm and harmonious nature of its inhabitants. While acknowledging that no system is perfect, he considered the attainment of 80% to 90% success rate in Bonthe District, facilitated by the ECSL staff, as a victory.

Dr. Senesie called upon citizens facing challenges during the process to exercise patience and remain calm.
