Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, delivered a keynote address at the South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Africa Forum held at the Bintumani Conference Center in Freetown.
The Forum, themed “Geopolitical Transformation and a New Global Financial Architecture,” aimed to explore how developing nations can leverage cooperation models to strengthen financial sovereignty, promote inclusive development, and drive progress on Agenda 2063.
Chief Minister Sengeh welcomed delegates from across the continent and the global South, underscoring Africa’s active role in shaping global development through solidarity, innovation, and partnership.
“I also wish to express my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, for his bold vision and unwavering leadership in placing Sierra Leone at the centre of regional and continental dialogue on cooperation and development.”
Sierra Leone’s hosting of this pivotal forum is no coincidence; it is a reflection of our consistent commitment to driving the African agenda from within Africa. South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTrC) gives us a tested, trusted, and timely pathway. It allows us to build partnerships based on mutual respect, to harness home-grown innovations, and to mobilize shared resources in pursuit of our collective ambitions, Chief Minister stated.
‘Let us use this Forum to sharpen our tools, elevate our voices, and deepen our cooperation, because only then can we transform the Global South from a story of promise into a centre of power and deliver for Africa,’ he said.
Sengeh added that this aligns closely with President Julius Maada Bio’s vision of positioning Sierra Leone as a leader in regional dialogue and delivery-focused governance, as seen through initiatives like Feed Salone and the country’s digital transformation agenda.
