Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has indirectly responded to recent comments made by Myk Berewa, the Director of Communications at the State House, which many have labeled as tribalistic.

Berewa’s post, referencing specific surnames such as Kamara, Koroma, Conteh, Kanu, Sesay, and Bangura, was critiqued for potentially fostering division amidst discussions surrounding the achievements of President Bio’s administration in infrastructure over the past five years.

Sengeh articulated a strong message promoting inclusivity through a movement he pioneered called “Radical Inclusion.” In his statement, he emphasized that the fundamental principle of the initiative is to ensure that every individual, regardless of their tribe, region, religion, gender, or race, has a place at the table.

“Everyone must be given an equal opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Say Yes to Radical Inclusion,” he affirmed decisively.

The backlash against Berewa’s original remarks was swift, with many commentators expressing disappointment and frustration. Critics highlighted that mentioning specific surnames in such a divisive context is inappropriate for someone in Berewa’s position.

One commenter described his post as “completely tribalistic,” while another noted the importance of responsible communication from government representatives, stating, “This post is way below your belt. You ought to know better, boss.”
